Baby Teeth

With all due respect what do you know about children’s teeth?  Why is it important to keep your baby teeth?  Why do you need children’s crowns and space holders?  Why do you need professional cleaning and sealed fissures?  And what are fissures?

Did we tire you out with our questions yet? As a rule (with great regret) parents are not as familiar with all the peculiarities of dental treatment for children unfortunately.  What makes the approach to baby teeth special?
We do everything we can as dentists to keep baby teeth up to their natural replacement, which begins at about 6 – 7 years of age and ends at 13-14 years old.  The main point – the condition of the teeth depends on how smooth, healthy and beautiful the permanent teeth will grow in the future.

Why is it important to protect and treat milk teeth in a timely manner? (Many think: “They will go away anyway…”)
Milkshakes are important for the normal development of the jaw.  If the tooth is pulled too early, the teeth placed around it begin to change their position, resulting in the permanent teeth changing from the original intended location.  Because of this shift, the tooth row is uneven and the bite is deformed.
A permanent tooth coming in next to a damaged milk tooth can seriously damage the health of the new tooth. The permanent tooth may grow distorted or not grow at all.

If the mouth doesn’t have enough teeth, speech can be impaired, as the tongue has to bend against the teeth during speech.  But if this isn’t the case, the child will be able to support the tongue, for example, against the palate.  Learning to do this differently, after having grown permanent teeth, will be difficult for him.  Untreated caries or cavities are an indispensible infectious disease.  Pathogenic bacteria staphylococci and streptococcus in the oral cavity impair immunity, and increase the risk of acute respiratory disease and the risk of internal organ disease.
Teeth are needed for shredding food and lack of them makes chewing insufficient.  This can lead to problems with the gastrointestinal tract.
Children are sensitive to their external appearances.  They like beautiful people.  Even preschoolers, not to mention teenagers, survive deficiencies in their external appearance, including stomach deformities or uneven teeth.  If there are several missing teeth and some are discoloured, and permanent teeth grow unevenly, then for a kid all of this can seriously alter a child psychologically.

Pay attention to preventative care
We will not say anything new: preventing the onset of illness is still easier (and, of course, less expensive) than treating it.  Timely prophylactic measures include: Fission *filling, fluoridation, preventative cleansing in the clinic and regular dental hygiene will reduce the number of caries significantly.  Its true!

*Fissures are natural on the surface of children’s teeth.  It is difficult to clean with a toothbrush (especially for a baby), so the teeth are plummet in them.  As the teeth of children are proved with immature, thin enamel, the process of caries begins.  Soon enough these areas accumulate.  In order to protect the permanent furrow teeth, we fill them with a special sealant.  It is very important not to overcome the moment of teething of the teeth because they are particularly fragile just in the first months of puberty.  Children perceive this procedure calmly – it is absolutely painless.
